I want to know how I come across and where I could do better. Be direct. I'd much rather have the real version than the polite one. Being kind matters more to me than being nice, and honest feedback is the kind option.
A specific moment helps most ("in that meeting, when you said X...") but even a single line is welcome. If I'm doing something well that I haven't noticed, tell me that too. Knowing what to keep is just as useful.
